Hyeyoung MOON

SOPRANO

Soprano Hyeyoung Moon was born in South Korea. She graduated from Seoul Arts Highschool in 2016, she then graduated from Seoul National University in 2020 where she studied with professor Mihae Park.
In 2015 she performed in T&B Summer Festival for Youth with Philharmonians Seoul Orchestra at Seongnam Arts Center. In 2016 and 2017 she performed in An Introductory Concert for Youth at Sejong Arts Center. She sang in Ufa Russia Concert – Korean Art songs by Kyuyoung Chinin Ufa, Republic of Bashkortostan in Russia. She also performed in NYIOP Korea Economic Daily Concert in Lotte Concert Hall with Hankyung Philharmonic Orchestra.
In 2020, she began her master’s degree at The Juilliard School where she studied with professor Cynthia Hoffmann.
At Julliard, she sang the role of heroine Agilea in Handel’s Teseo directed by Stephen Wadsworth and conducted by Gary Wedow. She covered the role Euridice in Juilliard’s L’Orfeo and she performed the role Anne Trulove in Juilliard’s The Rake’s Progress which was directed by Louisa Muller and conducted by Mark Shapiro. She participated in Lincoln Center’s Through the Window concert which was part of the Lincoln Center restart project.
She sang in two concerts which took place in North Carolina – Beethoven and Opera Undressed - with The Chamber Orchestra of the Triangle at Carolina Theatre of Durham. She has performed in master classes of Michele Crider, Cheryl Studer, Lawrence Brownlee, Isabel Leonard, Barbara Hannigan, and Barbara Frittoli.
She will be joining Deutsche Oper Berlin for 2022-2023 season and will make her debut as Queen of the Night and many other roles.
